Tawatinaw to Rochester

This stretch of the trail is 10 km long and is being constructed under the direction of the Athabasca Recreational Trail Association. Some improvements to the staging area in Rochester were made in 2010 and include a trail marker, picnic tables and open grass area. Volunteers from the Rochester Agricultural Society have offered to help build and maintain the trail.

Work on this 10 km stretch of trail began in 2010 and included three separate projects:


Rochester

Rochester: a staging area that includes picnic tables, benches, waste receptacles, washroom and a covered kiosk with signage was built. Funding for materials and equipment was raised by the Athabasca Recreational Trails Association (ARTA). The work was done by volunteers from ARTA and the Rochester Agricultural Society











Colinton

Colinton: A picnic shelter was constructed in Colinton with funding raised by the Athabasca Recreational Trails Association (ARTA). The work was done by volunteers from ARTA and the Colinton Playground Committee.














PerryVille

Perryvale: a local artist was commissioned to refurbish two community signs Funding for these amenities came from Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation. Work on this trail section is continuing in 2011.
